House 53 is one of the last works famous architect Marcio Kogan in São Paulo, Brazil. Like some of his other projects, distinguished by simplicity, comfort and combination of interesting materials. The house was designed as a wood and mortar monolithic block with another concrete and glass volume upon it. Most rooms with wooden walls could be completely open for all possible natural light or completely closed to darken the inside. The first floor includes public areas such as a living room and a kitchen. The upper floor consists of private spaces and panoramic views of the surround landscape. It is popular in the region to maintain a large indoor-outdoor relationship through areas with open terraces and this house is not exclusion. [Marcio Kogan]
